CHICKEN ADOBO

Chicken adobo is one of the most famous foods to try in the Philippines, known and loved by everyone. The chicken (or pork) marinated in a mixture of soya sauce and vinegar. Other ingredients are added depending on whose recipe you follow.A very unique recipe and its done at home.

Balut

Balut is a common street food in the Philippines and other localities, and is also sold in stores and malls. It is a relatively cheap source of protein and calciumThe ideal age of the duck embryo is 17 days, when the chick is not old enough to fully show its beak, feathers, claws and the bones are undeveloped.

Kare Kare is a type of Filipino stew with a rich and thick peanut sauce. It is a popular dish in the Philippines served during special occasions. The traditional recipe is composed of ox tail. There are instances wherein both ox tripe and tail are used. The vegetable components of the dish are string beans, eggplant, bok choy, and banana blossoms. Lightly browned toasted ground rice is used to thicken the sauce.

There are several versions of kare-kare. The most common difference of each has something to do with the meat ingredient. We now know that the traditional protein used for this dish is oxtail. Tripe is also a good ingredient to use. There are also versions that make use of other types of meat, and even seafood.

KINILAW

Kinilaw is a raw seafood dish native to the Philippines, similar to ceviche. It is more accurately a cooking process that relies on vinegar to denature the ingredients, rather than a dish, as it can also be used to prepare meat and vegetables




SINIGANG

Sinigang is a  sour soup dish prepared with tamarind then with meats like pork, beef, chicken, fish and prawns, they also prepared with different vegetables like kangkong, taro, radish, string beans, okra, green chillies, tomatoes and eggplant.A meat based sour stew or soup with lots of vegetables. The most popular souring agent is tamarind (sampalok). Pork (baboy) is the most common meat used but chicken, beef and fish are also popular.

PAKSIW NA BABOY

This is considered the national dish of the Philippines and the city of Cebu is considered one of the most famous places to eat it.Paksiw na baboy, which is pork, usually hock or shank (paksiw na pata for pig's trotters), cooked in ingredients similar to those inadobo but with the addition of sugar and banana blossoms to make it sweeter and water to keep the meat moist and to yield a rich sauce.


TAPSILOG

TAPSILOG is a traiditional filipino breakfast. TAPSILOG stands for TAPA, which is the marinated/ cured beef. SININGAG is the fried garlic rice, and ITLOG means egg which is fried sunny side up in this dish.
